Amy shows off her Ice Magic skills

IT has already created some ice magic for Harry Potter and Harrods, the world’s most famous store.

Now the company that also provided a skating rink for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver has gone to Stretford to create a winter wonderland – whatever the temperature – and a Knutsford resident was one of the first to use it.

Ice Magic has set up a synthetic rink at Stretford Mall, which is free to everyone.

The rink was officially opened on Monday, at 11am, by the Mayor of Trafford, Clr Jane Baugh.

To mark the occasion, the region’s brightest young ice skating stars, including Chloe Hadfield, 11, from Sale, and Amy Morris, eight, from Knutsford, showed their ice skills.

Reading-based manufacturer Ice Magic installed a rink on the roof of Harrods in London for its popular Christmas TV advert, and supplied several of the Harry Potter films.
